Yunzhu (Jessica) is a dedicated young professional passionate about all fields of technical design and production. As a fresh Theater and Dance graduate from Macalester College with minors in Performance Design &Technologies and Computing Science, Yunzhu is capable of approaching production both creatively and pragmatically. Detail-oriented, effective in a team setting, and flexible, Yunzhu commits to creating and realizing the wonderous world of every production and eager for new challenges.

During her free time, Yunzhu likes to geek about Gundam Models (Gunpla), LEGO, logistics, and aviation.

Associate Project Manager

May 2024 - Current

Visual Horizon Communications, St Paul, MN

  • Produce and collaborate on technical drawing packages using VectorWorks for corporate meetings and events. Show sizes range from rooms of 100 attendees to sessions for up to 2000 attendees.

  • Assist in compiling gear and labor needs for upcoming shows. Generate and update estimates for clients both independently and in assistant to the Production Manager and the Technical Director.

  • Automated processes of generating production books using Microsoft Excel formulas and links to significantly shorten the time and effort needed to manage existing and upcoming events.

  • Track and update production books, including labor grid, detailed onsite schedules, catering, crew travel and hotels, trucking, sub-rental schedules, and other expenses.

  • Assist Business Manager in ad-hoc tasks such as tracking expenses and insurance.

Live Event & Technology Intern

  • Collaborated in production processes and drafted design and layout packages in VectorWorks.

  • Created digital visualizations of prospective events for clients in TwinMotion.

  • Assisted in the production management process with creating truck packs, tracking inventories, updating estimates, and other tasks.

  • Assisted in shop prep, load‑in, show run, load-out, and de‑prep of shows and events.

Scene Shop Carpenter

July 2021 - May 2024

Macalester College, St Paul, MN

  • Drafted and fabricated, scenic pieces under the supervision of the Technical Director.

  • Loaded in and stroke seating banks, lighting fixtures, and audio speakers for all shows in the theater.

  • Led up to 25 inexperienced actors and dancers during load-in and load-out to complete scenic construction, organization, and scenic painting tasks.

  • Performed routine shop clean up and upkeep tasks such as track inventory and organizations.
