Textures
To really sell the age of the train station, every surface needs to feel textured and worn—nothing should look new. The walls are crumbling, moss is creeping along the edges, and the wood is chipped and splintered. Wherever possible, physical weathering is used to push the sense of decay and make the space feel truly lived-in.
Bricks are made from split sound board. The unevenness catches side lights and gives it more dimension than painted textures.
Moss is made from a mixture of water-based adhesives and saw dust. It is then tinted with paint.
Colors
The paint on all surfaces is intentionally high-contrast. I want the painted shadows and textures to hold their depth, so even under harsh stage lighting, the grit and grime still come through. While high in contrast, the color palette is low in saturation and vibrancy, to give the world a uniform toned look.
